I have a 2001 mercury 6 hp 2 stroke. It has a shifter built in to the throttle handle. It is out of adjustment in that when you select neutral the lower unit is not fully shifted out of neutral. It is hung up in forward slightly. Anyone know what to adjust to get this lined up better. I see some cams on the port side of the engine but I am not sure where to make my adjustment. The shifter rod that runs from the lower unit to the connector at the top of the motor is non adjustable. I need to know where to make the adjustment. Please help, thanks

Not realy up on your motor, but most of the shift in the handle motors have two nuts on the cables where they mount to the motor that can be adjusted to take care of the trouble you are having. By shorting or lengthing the cable for the shift only will change the position on the handle. JMO
