Increase HP on a Mercury Classic 45

Im owner of a Mercury Classic 45 (4-cyl.) in very good conditions.

It is possible to increase the HP to 55-60 hp?

Which parts i have to change?

Yes, if your serious and have deep pockets. Start with a copy of How to Modify Your Mercury Outboard Motor by Harry R Brinkman it's the bible for serious engine builders

Brinkman's book might help in a racing application with a very lightweight boat and racing lower unit, but most of his modifications won't translate to a service motor in any noticeable way.

Bottom line is there is no easy bolt-on or parts-swapping way to increase the power out of the old 44-cubers. If you need more power, get a bigger motor...

Bolt on a bigger motor!!! :)...... as Chinewalker posted no bolt on or user mod's for increased hp....
