1976 85 hp mercury bogs down

my 1976 85 hp mercury outboard bogs down when I punch it unless I constantly squeeze the fuel line bulb. I had the carbs rebuilt and compression checked. I think it may be the fuel pump. any suggestions?

If the engine continues to run when squeezing the bulb, odds are that there is a problem with the fuel pump. By squeezing, you have become the fuel pump.
