I have a 85 horse mercury that idles great in yard.Has good compression all spark plugs and wires are good but in water with full throttle is only running about 10 mph and not full rpms. It has a 19 pitch prop was told it is too big but I don't think that's why it is acting like it doesn't want to run at full power.please help

If you have spark on all cylinders, clean the carbs

Depending on the boat you have, a 19" pitch prop can cause that issue. You would need to have a light runabout boat of about 16' for that prop to be the right one. What do you have?

Is this combination new to you, or has it ran fine before and now it just won't pull?

If you've had it like this then what was the last thing that you have done or changed?
