Looking for early 70s Mercury 135 Stator

Searching my local cl and ebay have not yielded any results. Where else should I look or should I just rewind mine?

Is it possible to remove the stator and replace it with an alternator? Either as a temporary fix or permanent fix? Asking because I saw this CL post.

Copied CL ad for future reference.

Converted my boat to car style alternator removed this working stator. Sold boat.
Will trade for Harley parts or electronics etc.

There are a lot of motors that share a stator with your's. Try IL4 motors to 1975 and IL6 motors to 1979. Basically any battery powered CDI ignition stator should work. CDI might even sell a new one.
