Please Help me determine how much I am being cheated!!!

A boat repair company is charging me over $750 for the diagnosis of need and installation of a switch box/power pack for a 1993 75hp Mercury outboard. Three hours is being charged for determining that the power pack needed to be replaced. Is this reasonable? It appears to me that 30-45 minutes should have been enough time to identify the problem. How much time is reasonable?

Every 2 stroke that comes in the door automatically gets a

Compression test
Spark test, and any irregularity, then gets a
DVA test of all ignition components

All should be done well in under 3/4 hour

New switchbox here on Iboats is only 180 + shipping. so 750 - 190= 560. 560 /3=186 per hr.. Holly Christ batman I would do the work for that money also. If I were paying the bill, it would be the last time I would ever take anything there to be worked on at those prices. JMO
