Hi everyone, just wanted to ask a quick question. My mariner currently needs a new starter button. You hit the starter and it keeps the starter fan wheel trying to turn the main flywheel over after you release the button. The serial number on it is 68C552696 and its one that was made in Japan. I can't seem to find anyone that has one in stock and was hoping I could get some help from the iboaters. Thanks guys

Are you sure that you are not missing a number after the 8, and before the C? 1984 Mariner, what hp?

The motor is a 9.9. I'm pretty sure that this was correct unless the serial number is somewhere other than near the transom mount.

Thanks carholme that's exactly what I was looking for. You were right I did go back and it's a 682Cl552696. Know anywhere I can get a PDF download of the operators manual?
