I have an old Mercury 7 1/2 electric start outboard. When I tried the electric start, the starter spun but didn't engage the
flywheel. When I pulled on the starter rope is pulled put didn't engage the flywheel either. Is there a switch or mechanism
to flip which lets you use the electric start or by flipping it lets you use the starter rope. Or will either work all the time and something isn't connecting to make the flywheel turn? Thanks for any help, I just got this motor and am unsure of how it works.
