I got a buddy who smoked his prop on his 96 60hp 4 stroke. I am trying to find the rpm range for this motor and i just can't find it. I have seen anywhere from 5000-5500 and 5500 to 6000 rpm.

I am assuming its a non bigfoor since its on a bass tracker but this is arkansas and they do some weird things.

He is currently turning 5800 with a 13p. I am thinking he can run a 15p but need the rpm range of his motor.

I don,t know the RPM Range for that motor. being a 60 HP I wouldn,t think more than 6000. I could be wrong but in my opinion 5800 RPM at WOT with the 13 P seems right or as close as can get to the 6000. Putting a 15 P would more than likely get you less RPM 4800 - 5000 and stress the motor somewhat. You may have a bit more on the top end but getting on plane might be alot slower with the 15 P. If anything I would try to barrow a 14 P to test The RPM range from hole shot to WOT. If the 13 P is the original prop that came with the setup. I would stay with whats there. It,s a tracker so it,s not a big bulky boat which would need much less pitch,to gain RPMs. Also if the RPM Max is sopposed to be 5500 then the 14 pitch I suggested for trail might bring the RPM down to the proper Rpms 5300 - 5500 and not letting the engine over rev and give you a decent hole shot and a bit more top end speed. I run a 14 P on my 70 HP with a heavy fiberglass procraft bass boat. I get about 5200 RPM at wot with only me in the boat, I think a 13 P in my case would be non beneficial as the weight of the boat would be a hinderance with less pitch for top end speed

yes It states 5500 to 6000 so he is right there with the 13 P

You say that this is a 1996 60 hp four stroke. Are you sure about that? What is the engine s/n?
