Mercury 40 hp, 2 stroke (in italy sold detuned to 25hp with name: "Super America")
Hi
i have an old outboard engine (Mercury 40hp, 2 stroke) on my boat that has only a rectifier without a voltage regulator. This is a photo of my engine:

I have a car battery and many instruments (GPS, fish-finder, lamps etc) that i want to protect. Can i replace the rectifier with a Mallory rectifier-voltage regulator? Which model is better? Mallory 9-17101 seems to be the right model
In Italy the engine is sold detuned to 25hp (the full name is "MERC 25 ELPTO SUPERAMERICA 91"), but i think that the model is this:

DISPLACEMENT: 717.00
CONSUMPTION: 14.72 l / h
MAXIMUM POWER: 25.00 hp at 5500 rpm / min

MASS: 80kg
