I have a 2004 Tracker by Mercury 50hp ELPTO that is only peeing a trickle.
I replaced the impeller and the problem remains. I pulled the thermostat and still the same.
I pulled the spark plugs and the bottom one had a small amount of white goo on the center electrode.
The motor runs great at idle and WOT. I hate to admit it but I'm lost. I am pretty mechanically savvy, just not so much with outboards. As far as I can tell there is no way to pull the water sleeve cover off or the "head" to inspect the pistons? I used a flashlight and looked in the bottom spark plug hole as best I could and could not see any more white goo.
Has anybody seen this before? I figure it must not be too common since I could not find it by searching this forum.
Anyway thanks,
Marc
