My upper swivel shaft does not have the nut on top to adjust (lift) the gimbal ring to .002 to .010 inch at the lower swivel shaft.

For adjusting my gimbal ring, I have to use two thicknesses of washers, .015 and .063 inches thick and the washers are to be used "As Required".

My question is, do you use these washers to make the same thickness adjustment as they do with the nut, .002 to .010 inches?

My adjusting washers go on the upper swivel shaft between the gimbal housing and the steering lever.

My upper gimbal shaft has a horizontal grove that the steering lever lock bolt slides through. When the bolt goes in this grove and the steering lever it lifts the upper swivel shaft and gimbal ring. The amount of this lift depends on how many washers you have installed.
