I have a problem with my Mariner Efi 30 hp, which stays in neutral. When moving the throttle on the boat, the two shifters inside the engine moves forth and back, but the propella stays in neutral. The cable from the throttle to the engine is obviously not broken.
I had a mechanic give an estimate, and he wanted 1,200 US Dollar to repair it.
Having read many threads about similar problems on this forum and other sites, it seems to be a high price to ask for this service?
Unfortunately I am not a mechanic myself, so I don't know exactly how to repair this myself.
Any advice that could help me prepare for my conversation with the mechanic would be highly appreciated. I'm on deep water here
