Does any one know if ths is a long or short shaft.

Hi, Have a Mercury 115 Inline 6 outboard. Was trying to determine if this was a long or short shaft. the serial number is 4116702. I could not find a model number on it. Also, does any one know the year?

Comes up as:

115 1975 ELPT 4115238 - 4310784

If it still has the original shaft P/N 45-69250, that would have been a short shaft.

Jvitt, There are some shortshaft IL6 Mercs, but not too many. They are highly sought after. They look kinda stubby. Measure from antiventilation plate to where the transom clamp will sit on the hull. Longshaft is 20"
