Mercury 80 hp outboard please help

I have a 80 hp mercury thunderbolt and it seems to have some kind of fuel problem. It was running fine last weekend but not as strong I thought it might be the plugs so I got new plugs put them in and went to go try it out and I put in the river and it fired right up and I ran it for about 5 mins then it just shut off. Now it will fire up when I do throttle only but as soon as I put in nutrual it stalls out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
