96 Mercury 115 powerhead removal question

Hi can anyone give me a step by step guide on how to remove the power head, and replace the gaskets and crank seals as well if possible. i have been quoted 1100 to do so want to make it cheaper if i do it myself...i am good with engines so can figure things out if explained any help would be fantastic guys thanks

Sure, purchase an OEM Service Manual. it will have the step-by-step instructions.

I was going to do that, but they are 80 dollars to buy..so was looking at some other way..

It's the best $80 you can spend. There are no free repair manuals on line, maybe something cheaper on ebay. You cannot do a MAJOR outboard repair without a manual.

Will have to in the end, one thing bothers me is will it show step by step on how to remove the p/h? if not will just play it by ear and hope for the best lol thanks guys
