Have twin 2005, 200 XL SWB Mercury Carbureted Saltwater edition outboards(model 12004222Y) that at first (begining of year) with the pump of bulb would start but as time went on they are now very difficult to start. Turn the key and they just turn over without any hint of starting, but at times with continued pump of gas bulb, will get lucky and they will start. These are run in fresh water. Once they start they run just fine.

1. Replaced plugs (all have good spark)
2. Replaced gas/water seperators

Please offer suggestion

Baron, I have the 150 model of the same year. I have found that if I prime the bulb until firm, turn key to "on", and choke it for 8-10 seconds, mine will crank first time, every time. Give it a shot.
