So im usually in the evinrude forums but I came across an old speedboat with a 1978 mercury 200hp on it. The boat seems fairly solid but im more interested in the engine. Are these decent motors or are they lemons? The motor is in great physical condition but it looks to have been sitting for at least a few years.
What do you guys think a fair offer for this motor boat and trailer would be? I was thinking about 800 as the trailer hasnt budged in a few years and needs all new lights, tires and bearings, the boat is in unknown condition as well as the motor.
also are parts still easily attainable for this era of motor? I know I have issues with my 1978 20hp and discontinued parts.
