Hello - We have a 1997 Tracker 25 hp outboard (two-stroke), part of a package that we bought new in 1997 with our SunTracker 25 Party Barge. The motor's been perfect since then - until last weekend. Older brother reported that he was out on the second of a couple of low-speed cruises on the lake when it started to run rather "boggy". He stepped up the throttle a bit and it smoothed out - only to quit entirely a few minutes later. They were towed back to the dock, and he started looking for fuel delivery and/or ignition issues. After some time, he determined that no spark is being generated - at all. He attempted to isolate the unit from the controls to try a dead start with the rope pull, but that still did not generate any spark. Anyone have a clue? Stator? Coils? Something else? Marina that sold it to us on the lake is no longer a Tracker dealer, and does not work on Tracker or Mercury outboards now.
