Discontinued Mercury Part

Looking for a part that has been discontinued by Mercury. Original part number was 72032 which was superceded by 815603A 1. Apparently this one has also been discontinued and not superceded. The part is the throttle actuator. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It's a 1983 50 hp. I'm searching to help out a friend, who gave me the serial number, but Mercury Parts Express wouldn't cough up a model number and he didn't have it. I'll try and get the model number posted.

That part was used on all 4 cyl. 44 cu. in. engines built from about 1978 to 1996, that includes all 4 cyl. 50-45 and 40 horsepower engines there are many marinas out there with doner engines. It should be just a matter of a few phone calls to marine service departments that sell Mercury outboards.

As near as I can tell all the 1983 50hp models used this throttle actuator in the throttle control linkage. Serial number is 6368558.

All 4 cyl. 40-45 and 50 HP engines built from 78 to 96 use that part

That's because you didn't add a 0 to the front of the serial number. S/N 06368558 Model #1050523.
