Hello Gents,
I have recently purchased a circa 1991 40 HP Mariner Magnum with power trim, auto oil mixing and remote stering (motor serial number 0C287 834 ). The motor has a very very genuine 100Hrs on it and has been in storage (under cover) , my question is this - what problems can I expect given the age of the motor, I appriciate the low hours however I do not know if I should be woried about parts that may have perished over the last 20 Years. I have read alot of your threads and know you like the motor alot but the age still bothers me. Here is some addition info.
- The motor was started once every 3 months and always serviced as per the manufactures requests.
- I took the boat and motor for its first test run and it ran like new, started first kick .
I appriciate any info/ advice on the motor.
Sebastian
