Alright guys. I have a heavily used Mariner 115 that was previously in the Cayman Islands for 14 years. We upgraded, and the engine is going on a 20' Mako Center Console. We had to change the shaft from a 25" to a 20" and in doing so discovered the lower unit was completely stuck. The bolts were all removed and the front could be wiggled and separated easily, but the back would not budge. We did manage to get about an inch of separation using a large flat head screw driver and a hammer. In the process we managed to break off two pieces of the lower unit (Pictures below). Think its salvageable for now until we can get a new motor in a year or so, or should we just replace the lower unit entirely?
