Trimmed up my 98 125 merc 2 stroke 4 cyl the other day while fighting a nice musky. Once the fish was landed and released I went to go trim the motor down and head home but the motor wouldn't trim down. Took a look and it appears somehow all the insulation on one of the leads going into the trim motor has been chewed all up and the wire is bare. I would just run new wires into it however it appears that the grommets are molded onto the wires them self. Has anyone had an issue with this or have any idea what a good route would be to head in. I would really prefer not buying a new motor. I'm tempted to just pull the grommet run the wire and put a bunch of 5200 on it and hope it seals it well.
