Mercury 125 knocking noise

Any help is appreciated. My 96 merc is knocking when I accelerate. It doesnt have the sound at idle or in neutral and goes away at full throttle.

Any Ideas?

My 115 was doing that.Turned out to be the flywheel nut was a little loose...Hope you get that lucky!

Might be bad fuel, take a portable tank with fresh gas and see if it makes any diffrence. Water in the system is bad news and can cause damage.

Fuel is good and flywheel is tight. It only knocks in the mid rpm range. I read it could be the shift linkage? How do I adjust that? Any other thoughts?
