K, had the cover off today doing some electrical work and trying to ID all these wires. couple are disconnected and would like to know what they are. Plus any other knowledge on this wiring setup would be helpful

These 2 wires are coming out of the loom running into the motor

These 2 are off the harness connection on the engine side

This black/yellow wire is tied up to this green wire

And am I right in guessing this is the main engine fuse? Runs to the starter solenoid

I think it says 79.5 on the engine, and by looking online at wiring I'm guessing this is an 80 model, am I correct?

I have the 1979 115hp. If you have the Seloc Merury repair manual . it has all the information on this motor. If youhave the serial# on the motor, ioats can probably tell you what you need. I bought a internal cable for mine and I think it was part# 85532 It matched-up perfectly

Alright where is the serial number? Since I have the black/yellow wires I'm guessing this is an 80's model. It says 79.5 on the timing card. They had the black/yellow wire ran to a green wire running to this little round thing (mercury switch?), which had a green wire running off of it running back to the grey wire out of the harness, and each ignition box had a wire running into this same grey wire (not factory obviously lol). I tested the coils with my meter while spinning over and I'm getting alot of negative readings, is that normal on these? And before you ask, yes I did have positive on positive and vice versa

OK, You have the ADI ignition system. Disconnect that mercury switch. Next disconnect the black/yellow wire at the switchboxes. See if spark returns. If not go on the CDI Electronics web site and run the troubleshooting test for your motor.
