mercury 1985 75 hp 4cly. wont turn over or click

Im hoping some can help with issue im have i have a 1985 mercury 75hp. 4cly. with a power or starter issue, but i need a compleate down to the wire color code on what wire goes where on the motor and to the siliniod ,then the starter and so on, how this gets togather ,i got the motor but when i turn the key nothing happens, no clicking nothing,and alot of wires are cut so i mean Im in need of a full wiring diagram if anyone can help with this i would be very happy

Post serial # and you will get a more accurate response.
Did you just buy?I would be suspicious as to why the wires are all cut.

the wires are not cut they are just not connected,and yes i just bought this, as for the serial number i can get it latter.

I had alot of starter issues and the first thing to verify is that the battery is charged. After that I used a multimeter to check for voltage drop at the battery, the battery side of the solenoid, the starter side of the solenoid and at the starter itself. The first time the brushes were gone, the second was a new starter where the ground broke of in the starter and the third time I had the ground go in my rebuilt original starter. On a seperate instance I had to replace the fuse. Hope this helps.

BUT wouldnt you get a click if it was the starter ,mine does nothing

I have the exact same motor as you....its not starting at all like yours
but I do hear clicking
