Question, I have the opportunity to get a 2003 Mercury 125 HP for a really good price.. The only problem is During a leak down test the following was found; The cylinder leak down test results are as follows; #1 - 10% #2 - 12% - #3 - 100% - Bad cylinder- #4 - 10%. I'm asumming cylinder 4 has bad rings..I work on cars alot and put piston ring in all the time..Now I never broke down a outboard motor before.. My question is can I remove the back of the motor exposing the pistons.. bring each piston to the top and replace the rings without breaking down the entire motor..
