I have just purchased a 1995 Mercury 25 Hp (0G125060) with a ignition problem.
Last owner stated it cuts out on him and was a pain and glad to buy a new one.
That being said, why do it do that.
Thoughts were fuel related but found spark failure after short run start.
Went thru wire connections removed stop/ kill and stop / lanyard wires to begin with.
Found and corrected neutral safety cutout circuit.
Condition remains.
Now what would cause this condition.
It may be time for flywheel to come off and look for that wire with the worn insulation.
I will likely have that done by the time a reply is posted.
What next? Ideas or links appreciated. 'crabman'

Re: 1995 30 Hp Mercury Ignition troubles

I pulled flywheel and found no worn wires. Bought new plugs gapped them and installed. The intermittent spark failure still exists. Does anybody have a Service / Repair Manual for this motor?
