2007 mercury 115 hp optimax vs 1999 mercury 115

Im looking at upgrading to a newer motor , current motor is a 1985 merc 115 still runs strong but i have the chance to buy either a 2007 mercury 115 hp optimax or 1999 mercury 115 . Any issues with these engines ? Would my current transom holes be the same if i hooked up the 99 or 07 merc on my boat vs the 85 merc ?

Would the 2007 Optimax be way better on gas ? Both engines have low running time the 99 would be about $3000 less than the 2007 optimax.
