89 9.9 compression

im getting about 110 psi on this motor on both holes. do these have lower factory compression?

The problem here, Shaw, is that compression test results on 2 stroke outboards are almost subjective. There are simply too many hard variables and too many differences in technique to set psi criteria for results.

If it were possible to set psi criteria all measurements would have to be taken under exactly the same conditions, with exactly the same gauge and exactly the same technique.

All measurements taken on the same engine at the same time, etc., etc, are taken in exactly the same way, etc. Whatever the psi numbers are, they set the criteria for each other. Healthy cylinders will measure about the same and any unhealthy cylinder will be far below the other(s).

Your two cylinders measure about the same (within 10%) and far above what you would get if there were leakage between them. That is the result of a mechanically healthy engine.
