Just picked up a 79 1/2 115, s/n 7131394 first run of ADI. Looking for parts, s/n is not recognized. Could somebody provide model # to use for parts lookup. There is no welch plug on powerhead, as block was replaced in 1982. I know unit rated at crank, what is equivalent prop shaft rating (90)?

Thanks
Gary

I have never seen a specific chart for the post 1983 crank/prop relationship but in your question, you are talking a 25 hp loss from crank to prop. I have a hard time believing that as we are only dealing with one 90 degree change of direction and minimal loss through a few bearings. However opinions are all over the place. I am sure somewhere there is an engineering paper that has some kind of base formula.

Maybe one of the dealers on here will chime in.
