1983 mercury 115hp Tach question

Hello, im sure this has been asked before but i cant seem to find my answer.
i have a SN# 6263222 1983Merc 115hp and am trying to hook up the tachometer.
It seem to work fine on 12 pole but i woud like to make sure this is the correct setting.

can someone out there tell me for sure what pole it is 6 or 12 pole?????

6C or 12P, whatever your tach has....is correct.
