Re: Mercury service manuals

There are no downloadable OEM service manuals for those engines. However, if you go back to that sticky, there is a link for the index. Just locate your SN range and find the correct manual. Perhaps a trip to ebay will find you the manuals you want.

Re: Mercury service manuals

The manual you need for A131226 is 90-86135-5 and for 4295510 is 90-86134-4.

When using the Mercruiser chart, you have to identify your s/n in the right hand column against the country your engine was manufactured in:

(U) = UNITED STATES
(A) = AUSTRALIA
(B) = BELGIUM
(C) = CANADA
(I) = INTERNATIONAL

In the case of A131226, you identify the US by the code letter U and your s/n is higher than the s/n listed:

(U) 4576237 and Above

For 4295510, same code U and:

(U) 4112635 and Above

Clear as mud??

Re: Mercury service manuals

I did actually stumble onto a place to download the manuals for what you are looking for. It's not free, they are 8 or 9 bucks. But I just downloaded recently the 570 some page manual for my 74 65 horse, which is the same for your 85, and they are VERY complete manuals. better than clymers or seloc. Let me know if you need the site.

recrepairinfo.com
not sure if these are "oem" manuals as they cover more than one engine but each engine style has its own part in the manual. very informational. just tore down my motor completely with the help of these also able to put it back together

Re: Mercury service manuals

Seloc is an online manual provider. I have an OEM Merc and a Seloc download (cost money for their service....nothing is free) but the manuals have lots of pictures and lots of verbiage that the OEM manual doesn't have. Definitely worth the small charge. Possibly they have one for your engine.
