80 hp blueband Mercury

I have an 80 hp blueband Mercury the number in the id plate is 8050453 , would anybody be able to advise it's age from this information.
I have cracked the lower foot are the 60 through to 85 hp feet interchangeable?
You assistance is greatly appreciated.

Most 4/6 cylinder inline Mercury outboards used the same lower unit from the early 70's to the mid 80's,however the gear ratio changes with the higher hp models. 80 hp and 85 hp inline 4 used a gear ratio of 2:3

That is a Australian serial number and it should be a 1976. You need a unit off a 4 cylinder motor in the following hp's: 65/75/80/800/85/850 as they are all 2.3:1 ratio......

Thank you all for your advice, no all I have to do is find a secondhand unit.

Cant it be repaired.I had a crack on my gear housing and repaired it.
