1990 90hp 3 cyl mercury engine. serial OB275XXX

searching on here for my engine I came up with this kit:
http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfind...gd_poid=112206&gd_row=61&**********=267353221

only problem is it looks like just a gasket kit, I want a complete kit with new needles, etc. so I searched on a different site I get the following kit:
http://www.**********/parts/detail/merc/M-9599.html

I crossed it using that number into google and got:
http://www.crowleymarine.com/parts/322626.cfm

this gives me a superceding part number chain ending in part #1395-8236354 which looks like a COMPLETE kit including new springs, needles, etc which is what I want.
http://www.crowleymarine.com/parts/3615.cfm

so I then put part #1395-8236354 into google's search and get this which gives me a cross reference to sierra which is sierra part #18-7750:
http://www.mymarinemechanic.net/servlet/the-3162/Carburetor-Kit,-Complete-Kit,/Detail

18-7750 is carried here on iboats but cant be found under the mercury 90 listings in the carb section. I just want confirmation that I'm doing my searching correct is all before I order three of these since I've never had to deal with paypal and iboats return policy before

also, I'm in travel status with work and wanting to order these so they are waiting on me when I get back in town so I cant really just go out back and check the carb numbers lol.

I clean the carb on my boat every few years, and have never had to purchase a carb kit. I am very careful with the gaskets, and have not had any issues. Try just cleaning them. It might work for you.

The 90/10 fuel breaks down quickly, and the acids eat up anything rubber. I try to run all the gas out in the Fall, and keep very little fuel in the gas tank. I'll come back in the Spring with a full tank of fresh 100% gasoline--the best preventative maintenance you can do.

Your motor is a 1988 model according to serial#.That should clear things up.
The 1395# is the one you want at around $35.If you cant get genuine go for Sierra.

I've already torn the carbs down once and cleaned them out and they still continued to ooze fuel mix into the carb throats and down into the intake box. I'm assuming the needles are no longer seating properly and worn among other things to possibly include dried gaskets.

I just want to completely go through them with new components as its a pain to just repeatedly take them off.

I'll grab the sierra kits since I'm working on a limited mad money amount in my paypal account lol.

I hope the bit about it being 1988 model registered.Could even be something as simple as float level adjustments,or worse saturated floats, are they plastic or foam.
Sounds like your best buy would be a merc manual(1988)

floats are plastic and not cracked. I also have the manual and followed it for inspection and couldnt find anything wrong when inspecting. not my first rodeo. I'm looking at needles or springs or a gasket that has too much clearance. but its happening to all three carbs so I'm just going to go through all three of them at once to try to eliminate as many variables at once.
