What's a good operating RPM range pushing a 24 ft pontoon boat.and how high should I push it at a steady run. The motor has less then 50 hours on it.

Assuming that you are propped such that you can reach the recommended operating rpm range (preferably the upper end of it) at WOT it probably doesn't matter where you run it. A lot of idling/low speed operation might result in carbon deposits and all which are undesirable. Using Sea Foam in the fuel can help to keep things cleaned up if you do. Instructions on the can.

How about 2500-3500 for a range?
