1968 mercury distributor question

was trying to remove wires away to get carbs off pulled a wire loose cap stuck in dis. can't order new ones how do you fix this problem? can you dissasemble the cap and solder it back? where could I get new wires if needed .1968 mercury 500 2 stroke 4cyl...........Thanks Mitch

Well I guess I will anserw my own question the wires running into the distributor screw in so I just un- screwed them then crimmed them back to the ends and put them back on ran a ohms check viola back together.

You could use some solder as well for strength or buy new ones here http://store.oldmercs.com/product_p/84-63212a2.htm
