Prop Shaft Oil Seal Removel

2000 Mercury 40hp (2-cyl) I HAVE THE CARRIER ASSMLY. OUT BUT CAN'T GET OIL SEAL OUT. All help welcomed.

I think you will have better luck in the Merc motor section.
I can't speak spicifically to the merc carrier but I have removed seals by simply prying across the seal with a screw driver.From the display in my after market manual it seems you could drive it out with some sort of drift pin working from the opposite end.
As long as you don't use excessive force and damage the carrier it shouldn't matter if you distort the seal its only going in the trash.

Thanks for the information. Iused a hand helt small nail puller and they popped out. I would not have tried this without your info. Thanks again
I have a set ordered any tips on installing them?

I usually select a socket that is about the size of the seal with a little lube on the seal shell
so it will slide smoothly and tap it in smotimes a little gasket sealer to be sure oil won't leak around the seal itself.
