Carb Kit for 1982 Mariner 30 HP?

I have a 1982 30 HP Mariner, long shaft, electric start. Serial #689 407 533.

Looking at the Sierra carb kit applications shows the 18-7770 kit for:
M 689 230 100 & Up
ML 689 530 100 & Up
E 689 250 100 & Up
EL 689 550 100 & Up

The serial numbers seem to be all around mine, but no direct hit. Do the middle three digits indicate the year of the motor - meaning that the 18-7770 kit is only for motors newer than mine? Am I reading the applications table wrong?

Anybody know the correct carb kit for my motor?

That is the correct gasket kit for a 30A HP. Your model is an E.
