First thank you to every one who helps me. I appreciate it so much.
I have a 1972 7.5 H.P. Mercury. I cannot get it started. The things I have checked.
1) put new plugs and great spark
2) wires are good also
3) fuel filter slightly dirty but now clean
4) rebuild carburator
When i try to start in Neutral cannot get it to even fire. I engage the motor in Forward full throttle and it fires for a second then dies. I take off the carb and the fuel filter is clean and there is gas in the float bowl. Does this sound like I need a new fuel pump? When I inspect the carb I checked the plugs also and they are bone dry. I don't know if I can even get a fuel pump for this but if not can you rebuild one and if so can you please tell me how??
