What is the real difference between the 40, 50, & 60 HP Big Foots?

I've been going over the specs on the 40, 50 , & 60 HP Big Foots (2011) and am trying to figure out if I would see any difference if this were mounted on an 18' Pontoon boat.

All three engines have the same specs, save for rated HP.

Compare 40, 50, & 60 HP Big Foots

There is about a $1400 difference between the 40 & 60.

Would there really be a perceived difference between the 40 & 60?

Not a tooner, but to me, it's just a matter of how fast you feel you have to go. The toon is not a speedboat. You hear about 9.9's pushing them around all the time. Back in the '70-'80 ish time frame, Scott Atwater (McCullough Corp.) had a 14 hp big foot that did one heck of a job pushing toons around.

Looks to me like you would do yourself a favor and spend the $1400 on a vacation on your 40 hp toon. Grin

Agree other than HP they all seem to be the same critter.

Yeah, $1400 will pay for a few seasons of gas based on how much we'd use it, either that or one heck of a nice trip on the bike ;-)
