No spark 2,4,6 here is what fixed it. Merc 175hp outboard

Well the shop tested all and come up with the switch box was bad. Still havent heard the motor run, hoping after the 300 dollar fix it starts up and runs well. It is OEM so he told me to get only one of them. Some of you told me to replace them both. When I asked him he said to only get one. Confused on this.

Well, we'll see I suppose. Fact is that sometimes the "good" switchbox is actually the bad one. They're cross connected with a bias circuit.

There's ways to fully identify which one is actually bad, but it's hard to tell if it's hurt the other one or not. What we'll see is how sharp your mechanic actually is.

Always ask for your old parts! That 'bad' switchbox may be not sparking due to a bad Bias on the 'other' box

When he calls and tells you the one switchbox didn't fix it, that you need another, go pick up your boat, and the old part.

Repost and we will walk you thru the correct method of testing and repairing, without buying any 'extra' parts.
