2004 115hp 4 stroke, engine intermittantly shuts down for 1 second at high RPMs under

Have a 115HP Merc 4 stroke with Yamaha powerhead. When running at 4500 rpm under a load the engine will cut off for a half a second and then start running again at the previous rpm. Problem is intermittent, sometimes it won't happen at all and other times do it 3 or 4 times a day. Have replaced stater and voltage rectifier and problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.
