Just looking to get ready for winter - on my old 90 HP Mercury I just used regular SAE90 Gear Oil, I have been reading and my manual does not specify any certain weight or type of oil so I assume I can just use the same SAE90 oil or do I have to get a synthetic 75W90 or something else? I am two hours away from the Mercury dealer so hope I don't need something Mercury specific.
