I have a 85 glastron with 135 hp merc inboard. If I take the trim all the way down, it will not go back up without help. I can manually raise it some and then it will start working again. I took to shop and they said connections were dirty. Took to lake and did exactly the same thing. Any suggestions?

Fill the trim pump with some oil.

Re: Trim won't go up

I had this issue with mine in the opposite direction, and had to replace the down pressure relief valve in the trim pump. You may need to replace the up pressure relief valve. Essentially what it was (not) doing was allowing the fluid to leave the opposite pipe as new fluid is being pumped in the other side. If you are a DIYer, this can be a slightly messy job, but this was my first DIY repair on my boat, and it was surprisingly easy.

Agree with Gomer, top it up then bleed( up down a few times) then repeat till full.Air in system via possible leak in system.
