Racor 320RRAC01 Water Seperator Question

I ordered the Racor 320RRAC01 Water Seperator per John Martin's recommendation. The instructions say that I need a check valve if the filter is above the tank. Is this necessary? If so, what do I order?

I would think they mean antisiphon valve installed on the fuel tank pickup tube, if the filter is below the tank. is that it?

That's the one I remember.

If the filter is above the tank, the worst that would happen is it would bubble air in for a few seconds when you went to drain the water. So what. Just re-prime and go.
