1995 15hp runs rough

My 15hp seems to want to stall out when going from idle to fast. Once it opens up it runs great until I throttle down and try to open up again. Any ideas? When I pump the gas ball it does not get hard when connected to motor. Is it suppose to? If I disconnect from motor then pump the ball will get hard.

Have you removed the cover and pump the bulb to see if fuel is comming out somewhere?

Yeah. I had to replace the little blue push button on the side of the carb. It was leaking. I am not sure what it is used for.

Just purchased new gas tank primer bulb and Merc ends for line, fuels filter and two new spark plugs. Will try these out today.

sounds like the primer bulb. I would replace the fuel line as well to updated line that is recommended for ethanol.

Thanks for the replies. Replaced fuel filter, fuel line/primer bulb, gas tank and put 2 new spark plugs. Engine ran great from idle to full throttle. I am leaning towards the primer bulb being the problem.
