hey all, new here and need some help please...

Here's the story:

2006 50hp Merc outboard big foot 4 stroke EFI w/ only 55hrs on it...

Initially started and warmed OK, but once cleared no wake zone and tried to
increase speed began to sound like it was choking off and then died. Tried
pumping the fuel line bulb till hard again, but would only run for a few seconds
and then die again....if I closed choke it would race like heck and as soon as I
eased off the choke it would die again. Tried both my fuel tanks and same thing. I'm not familiar with outboards but
guessin its fuel related.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Mike

Fuel pump diaphram needs changing. Rebuild the fuel pump or crap in the fuel screen or carb has crap in it. Check for dry rotted fuel lines or if they are being eaten alive by ethenol
