1997 Mercury Sport Jet 175hp - beeping

I have a Sugarsand Tango Jet Boat with a Mercury 175hp Sport Jet. At idle or low rpm's, it began sounding 3 long beeps. It beeps 3 times upon startup and also 3 times when idling down after running at higher rpm. Both oil tanks are near full and it doesn't seem like it could be overheating right on startup. It also blows some blue smoke on startup, so seems like the oil is getting through. Oddly, it did this both last week on Thursday evening and last night, but not on Saturday or Sunday.

Any thoughts?

Anyone out there? The only change is that it now beeps 4 times instead of 3 and it does it every time now.

oil sensor in the tank has floats they absorb some of the oil and get heavy causing alarm may try fill all the way up with oil.......may need to replace one or both tanks...........sensors most of the time all molded into tank when mfg'd
