Hello,
Ive done some searches but it only netted me some very old topics with broken links. I have a quicksilver side mount control along with a mecury 115 hp motor. The control unit is very old along with the boat (1983) and Ive read that it is probably better to just replace the whole unit than to fix it. Now my question is, are there any guides on how to replace the unit? Also does anybody have suggestions on which unit I will need? I am very capable of repairing cars but havent worked much on boats so I feel I can tackle this job. Any help or suggestions are appreciated, the local boat shop quoted me 500 in parts alone to replace, it will probably end up costing a large percentage of the boats value.
